North Carolina Essential Standards

for Information and Technology

The North Carolina Board of Education and Department of Public Instruction have adopted new Essential Standards for Information and Technology.  Beginning this school year (2011-2012) our students in kindergarten through fifth grade will be learning in five major areas:  sources of information, informational text, technology as a tool, research process, and safety/ethical issues.  If you would like to see the Essential Standards and Clarifying Objectives, please go to the NC DPI ACRE site.
